Appreciation of Chinese Culture –

Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum & The Chinese Herb Garden

When the summer vacation is coming, what would you like to plan? Are you planning about the leisure time, while thinking about exploring all kinds of science and technology culture, learning through playing, so as to broaden the kids’ horizons, and raise their appreciation level?

Here we go! As the first station of the University of Manchester China Centre Alumni Kids Club’s summer activities, we prepared this fantastic “Trip to Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum & The Chinese Herb Garden”.

Destination

The Shanghai Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine is located in Zhangjiang Medicine Valley, with an exhibition area of 4,050 square meters. There are eight special topics, namely, original medical activities, ancient medical and health remains, medical management of the past, medical history, health culture, modern marine Chinese medicine, herbal medicine appreciation, contemporary QiHuang, which in all, reflect the major achievements of Chinese medicine in various historical periods and indicate the bright future of its future development.

There are nearly 10,000 square meters of herb garden outside the museum, planting more than 600 kinds of medicinal plants, divided into vine gardens, grass gardens, Xinglinyuan and other dozens, and also has a greenhouse area. The Shanghai Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a national science education base, a national Chinese medicine culture publicity and education base, and a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

During the activity, you can also stroll through Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, enjoy sculptures such as Shennong and Zhongjing, breathe the fresh breath of the campus, and might also get the opportunity to walk into the science laboratory to explore the mysteries of biology.
