Manchester Matching Mentoring (3M) Proposal

What is it? Manchester Matching Mentoring (‘3M’)  – Mentoring relationships are made for this moment. By matching senior alumni (mentor) with younger graduates (mentee) to cope through this difficult time, we aim to support and add value to what is likely their first remote school experience.

When? ‘3M’ is another social responsibility initiative taken by University of Manchester China Centre as part of its ‘UoM NoW’ Campaign amid Covid-19. August 2020 will see its pilot run and the mentoring scheme will continue to run when our campus is once again filled with laughter.

How? Mentees and mentors can meet virtually amid Covid-19.

Get your ‘3M’ - Enroll by filling in a detailed form indicating your future programme of study, list of interests and fields you would like to get some help with.

Enrollment of mentors – We are interviewing potential mentors via video calls about their academic backgrounds, career path, hobbies and areas they would like to provide assistance with.

Matching (for students) –We will propose matches for you or you can reach out to your Match Support if you need help with anything particular. Most matches will begin their mentoring relationship virtually for the first three months.

Match support – China Centre will provide any support and coordination needed via phone or video conference.
