2020 Manchester Day of Action China Centre Project

Dear Students and Alumni,

On July 18th, University of Manchester China Centre and SORSA UoM Alumni Association would like to host a team-building activity together with charity ‘Dialogue in the Dark’(China). We would like to invite our 2020 July intake to take this fantastic opportunity to network and interact with your fellow cohorts who will accompany you and fight together with you as you embark on the journey of knowledge that is bound to bring you lovely and remarkable memories as well as our alumni who are always welcomed to visit our Centre and engage in our networking events to mingle and meet more friends, new and old.

Manchester is the only university in the UK to have social responsibility as a core goal. For our students and alumni, this means we have long been committed to social responsibility through supporting programmes such as Manchester Day of Action, a global volunteer activism campaign aligned with the University’s social responsibility strategic goal. Led by China Centre Director Ms Sherry Fu and China Centre teams, this year’s MdoA strives to gather new intakes who just joined our global alumni community and alumni to call for their support for visually and hearing impaired people of all ability levels, that will allow our students, alumni and these athletes from charity ‘Dialogue in the Dark’(China), whether professional or amateur, to enjoy and embrace together the a more active lifestyle and the benefits that a healthy active lifestyle can help provide.

Charity ‘Dialogue in the Dark’(China) has two main goals:

1) to increase the public’s awareness of and tolerance for “otherness”;

2) to create jobs for disadvantaged people by turning perceived deficits into potential assets.
