Educational Leadership Insight Session: The Digital Evolution

Digital spaces are now fully integrated into the everyday lives of learners of all ages, and even before the present health situation, had become the primary means by which we access information and entertainment, manage our social networks, and present ourselves and our activities to the world.

To have a better understand of digital evolution in 21st Century, The University of Manchester China Centre is pleased to invite you for Educational Leadership Insight Session on 24th November. In this session, Dr Drew Whitworth, will discusses the rise, challenges and opportunities of digitalization and educational digital technologies. He will also provide you with an insight into his optional unit ‘Digital, Media and Information Literacy’.

About Speaker

Dr Andrew Whitworth is Reader in the Manchester Institute of Education. His teaching and research interests lie particularly with distance and online learning, and how we learn to make good judgments about information and technology in a digital world. He has published three books on this latter topic: Information Obesity (2009), Radical Information Literacy (2014) and Mapping Information Landscapes (2020). Currently, He teaches on the MA: Digital Technologies, Communication and Education, and the MA Educational Leadership in Practice at The University of Manchester.

The University is now providing a blended-learning, part-time Master in Educational Leadership in Practice course, for a global rollout. This part-time, flexible course has already started the recruitment of the 1st Asia cohort for February 2021 intake.
