The 2021 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) is released by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy on 15th August.

The University of Manchester is listed as the 5th best institution in the UK, 35th in the world, according to the latest Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).

Since 2003, ARWU has been presenting the world's top universities annually based on transparent methodology and objective third-party data. It has been recognized as the precursor of global university rankings and the most trustworthy one. This year, more than 2000 institutions were scrutinized, and the best 1000 universities in the world are published.

ARWU considers every university that has any Nobel Laureates, Fields Medalists, Highly Cited Researchers, or papers published in Nature or Science. In addition, universities with a significant amount of papers indexed by Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCIE) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) are also included. In total, more than 2000 universities are actually ranked, and the best 1000 are published.

In June 2021, The University of Manchester has been named the world's 27th best university for a third consecutive year, according to the latest edition of the QS World University Rankings 2022.

In April 2021, Manchester was named the world's No.1 university in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings.

As one of those few Universities who have left their footprints all over the globe, the “blended learning” study mode introduced by The University of Manchester makes it possible for working professionals to embark on a new study journey without leaving their jobs.

Currently, The University of Manchester China Centre is currently recruiting part-time courses as Manchester Global MBA, MSc Financial Management, MA Educational Leadership in Practice and MSc International Fashion Marketing.
