Alumni Story | Peruts Zhu: Plan your MBA now, rather than later!

日期:2021-11-12 浏览:1013作者:UoM China Centre

Mr. Peruts Zhu, Regional Manager of ClouDr. Group Limited, joined Manchester Global MBA in January 2020. The pandemic has no doubt changed everyone’s life. Just as most people, Peruts went through the process of re-examining himself and re-starting. The past two years were special but fulfilled for him.

Do it now, rather than later

Peruts has extensive sales experience in the traditional pharmaceutical industry. With the digital transformation of the traditional industry, he decided to change the routine and got into medical internet industry in 2017. He joined the country's largest chronic disease management platform – ClouDr. Group Limited. After two years, he was promoted from District Manager to Regional Manager, where he was responsible for developing and managing businesses in Hangzhou, Nanjing and Beijing. As the scope of business and management expanded, Peruts started to meet difficulties in terms of management due to the lack of systematic business knowledge.

Peruts found pursuing an MBA has become a popular trend in the industry and most staff in the senior managerial team has obtained an MBA degree already. This has made Peruts realized that to do an MBA is a “must do” task.

How to choose a suitable part-time MBA programme?

Peruts firstly heard of Manchester Global MBA from a colleague. His colleague was quite satisfied by the programme while the programme had helped him to improve management skills and business knowledge.

On one occasion, Peruts came to The University of Manchester China Centre to take part in an industry sharing event given by Manchester Global MBA alumnus Rex Gu on the topic of “digital finance”. Peruts was quite impressed by the wonderful and in-depth sharing. Apart from this, the friendly and interactive atmosphere among the students left him a deep impression.

The University of Manchester has prestigious reputation all over the world. Peruts believes the programme would bring him a new adventure as well as a career progression. Finally, he decided to apply for Manchester Global MBA.

Well-designed curriculum and friendly academics

Looking back on the last two years of the Global MBA journey, Peruts believes Alliance Manchester Business School has an advanced and sophisticated online teaching system which greatly restores the offline classroom experience. This is completely different from the learning experience of many other schools that rush to offer ZOOM virtual classes. Under the pandemic, the programme has been carefully re-signed in order to secure an excellent student experience.

Manchester Global MBA covers a wide range of knowledge in various fields including finance, accounting, marketing, operations, human resources and etc. Some professors such as Paul Taaffe and Alison Ashton would slow down to explain every point clearly as well as encouraging every student to study at their own pace.

No Pain No Gain

At the beginning, Peruts was not confident especially in terms of English language skills. However, he achieved “distinction” in quite a few courses after his hard work. He thinks it’s very important to find the balance between work and study. “

The MBA journey is not an easy path, but it directs you to a career progression which you will never regret. If you ever think of pursuing an MBA, do it now, rather than any later”, said Peruts.
