Alumni Event Healthcare Industry Insight Talk

On the evening of 13th July 2022, Alumni Event Healthcare Industry Insight Talk was successfully held at the University of Manchester China Centre. After the welcome ceremony of The Manchester Global MBA July 2022 Intake, over 1100 guests joined the insight talk both from online and offline to discuss the development trend of health technology and its application in the local market.

Dr. Jian Li, Global MBA Alumni, the principal of Health Business, Amazon Greater China and Mr. Timothy Johns, COO, Global Health Group shared information about digital therapeutics and preview of Dragonboat investment digital health market report.

At the beginning of the event, UoM China Centre Director Ms Sherry Fu presented a warm welcome speech to all our guests and alumni who participated in the event.

During the event, Dr. Jian Li presented a speech about digital therapeutics, explaining why it would be the next key step of the modern healthcare, and how to improve the digitization process of health-care industry base on the Amazon "AMS Cloud". Mr. Timothy Johns shared some interesting information about digital therapeutics both globally and locally. He gave a preview of featured cases such as the "Telehealth",“AI in healthcare” , "smart home health tech" , and showed new projects which inform on the status of evidence based digital health solutions.

Since the outbreak of this pandemic, The University of Manchester has brought all its strengths to focus on this public health crisis. Now, researchers from UoM are still exploring all aspects of the disease, from prevention to treatment. By hosting industry insight talks, UoM China Center intends to incorporate key opinion leader perspectives from academic, industry, and government sectors, both locally and globally.

The event lasted about two hours, many alumni shared opinions about the event and joined in the discussion. According to UoM China Centre Director Ms Sherry Fu, UoM China Centre will continue to host events to promote the development of healthcare industry.
