David has spent his career mainly in the advertising and marketing services industry. In 1990 he set up his own business (PHD) with two partners. PHD was sold after 6 years to Omnicom. After leading PHD’s expansion globally, he left in 2007 to become CEO of iLG, overseeing a successful sale in 2008. Since 2010, David has served as a mentor, chairman, and consultant to numerous businesses, chairing 10 boards. Currently, he is involved with four companies spanning Adtech, Fintech, and digital creative industries.
David is a tutor at Alliance Manchester Business School teaching a Venture Capital/Private Equity based module as part of their MBA/MSc programmes.
In January 2021, David published a book called The Money Train: 10 Things young businesses need to know about investors, which won the 2022 BBA business book of the year award.
