In today's rapidly changing business environment, fintech is reshaping corporate globalization strategies at an unprecedented pace. Whether it's the convenience of cross-border payments or the innovative services of digital banking, FinTech provides robust support for companies to expand into international markets. At the same time, corporate globalization faces new challenges and opportunities.

On the afternoon of Friday, 21 March 2025, the University of Manchester China Centre is honoured to invite Mr. Wei Yan, a 2017 Global MBA alumnus and the Head of a global leading bank, to share his insights and thoughts on how FinTech can assist in corporate globalization strategies.

Mr. Wei Yan has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial industry, covering traditional banking, digital banking innovation, and technology consulting in high-tech companies across the Asia-Pacific region. He has accumulated extensive cross-industry and cross-market experience. In this event, he will share his observations and thoughts on fintech and international business expansion and discuss with participants how to leverage global resources to better "go global".

Hangzhou is not only a frontier of China's digital economy but also a starting point for many companies going global. In recent years, with the development of fintech, companies have found new solutions to payment, financing, and risk control challenges in their globalization efforts. In this session, Mr. Yan will draw on his experience in banking, digital banking, and technology consulting to explore the following topics:
