4 March, Shanghai | Global MBA Open Lecture: From Ideas to Impact: Managing Entrepreneurship and Innovation

In today’s business world, creative ideas are no longer scarce. What truly sets individuals and organisations apart is the ability to turn ideas into sustained impact. We are moving beyond the familiar VUCA world into a more complex BANI era— one defined by Brittleness, Anxiety, Non-linearity, and Incomprehensibility. These characteristics are rapidly becoming the new normal of the global business environment. In such a context, entrepreneurship and innovation are no longer just about moments of inspiration. They are capabilities that must be systematically learned, developed, and managed.

This March, we are delighted to invite Professor Oswaldo Lorenzo, lecturer of Entrepreneurship & Innovation Management, to deliver a masterclass titled: From Ideas to Impact: Managing Entrepreneurship and Innovation in a Global Context

What will you gain from this masterclass?

This session centres on a core question:How can entrepreneurship and innovation be systematically managed in a highly uncertain global environment to ensure ideas truly make an impact?

Drawing on cutting-edge international research and real-world business cases, Professor Oswaldo Lorenzo will explore:

  • Key differences in entrepreneurship and innovation across countries and cultural contexts
  • How to identify high-potential ideas rather than relying on inefficient trial and error
  • How organisations can build management systems that enable, rather than exhaust, innovation
  • The critical decision-making capabilities entrepreneurs and managers need in uncertain environments

This masterclass is ideal not only for those who are starting—or planning to start—a business, but also for managers seeking to drive innovation within organisations and achieve meaningful career growth.
