On the evening of June 30th, The University of Manchester China Centre hosted a reunion party for alumni and current students in Beijing. After three long years apart, students and alumni from the Beijing region finally reunited. Over 20 alumni gathered at the iconic Manchester United Theatre of Dreams, immersing themselves in the British ambience. They embarked on a tour of the stadium, followed by a delightful dinner, where they raised glasses and reminisced about their student days and current professional journeys.
The venue for the alumni reunion, Manchester United Theatre of Dreams in Beijing, serves as a bridge for exchange and interaction between Manchester United and Chinese football fans. The event featured not only guided tours but also immersive interactive games, allowing participants to deconstruct the sporting spirit of Manchester United's pursuit of excellence and relentless progress. Through engaging in immersive entertainment experiences, attendees were able to deepen their connection with both Manchester City and Manchester United, further strengthening their relationship.
After the tour, Ms. Sherry Fu, Director of UoM China Centre, delivered an opening speech. She reviewed the development and achievements of China Centre, showcasing the milestones and accomplishments over the past few years. In 2023, China Centre will celebrate its 15th anniversary, while 2024 marks the upcoming 200th anniversary of the University. In these 15 years, China Centre has nurtured over 2,000 outstanding students from Global MBA and executive master's programmes. Following graduation, they have made remarkable achievements in their respective fields. Furthermore, Sherry announced the upcoming 15th-anniversary celebration of UoM China Centre in September this year. Alumni will have the opportunity to gather once again and celebrate this significant milestone.
In addition to the captivating speeches, a series of engaging interactive games were organized at the event. Alumni enthusiastically participated and answered 9 questions about the University, showcasing their profound understanding and love for their alma mater. This ignited lively discussions and fond memories of UoM among the attendees. Everyone spoke freely, sharing their experiences and insights, while encouraging and supporting one another. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and camaraderie, strengthening the bond among the alumni.
